I am a psychiatric nurse. This pen light is good for doing neuro checks and for doing patient rounds on night shift. It takes 3 AAA batteries and runs low fairly quickly.

I bought this for neuro checks at the hospital bedside. Fits in my pocket just like my pens. I think the batteries may go quickly because the push button to turn on the light is sensitive. It was inexpensive and does the job.
